Literacy/Developmental Skill: imagination plays a critical role in problem solving and learning. You can nurture your child's imagination by playing games. For example, pretend that your colors scarves are leaves swirling down from a tree or laundry swaying on a clothesline on a gusty day. Wave your scarves as the wind blows!

Need an idea of an extension activity that goes along with this week's developmental theme? Here are some ideas:
- Play dress up! See who your kids can turn into!
- Tell stories together. You start narrating and ask your kiddos for details, places to go, etc.
- Find a box! Cut windows into it and it can be a house. Make a steering wheel and your box becomes a car!
- Cloud/Star-Gazing: Grab a blanket and head outside! Try to find shapes in the clouds, and make up your very own constellations.
- Arts and Crafts: It doesn't take much to get kids excited about crafts. Pinterest is chock-full of ideas, but really all you need are a few household items/recyclables and some imagination!
- And I really like this article that gives you some detailed activities to do with your kids
- Let them get bored--this is okay! Next time your child says "I'm so bored!" meet them with a challenge of creativity to see what they can come up with! You'll be surprised what new crafts or activities kids can think up themselves.
Lastly, I want to share with you our Goodbye Song. This song is brand new this year, and there are a lot of words and motions to it, so if you ever need a refresher or are new to the song and want to learn it with your kids, here you go!
